Print 09 – Xerox

Last week (September 10 to 15), I worked with Xerox at Print 09 in Chicago, IL.

I completed a variety of tasks – starting with a full day of training on September 10.  We were quickly introduced to each of the products that were being displayed, show goals, the 2000+ sq. ft. footprint, and many managers.

For the first show day, I was responsible for folding materials to be distributed to attendees from the satellite booth and maintaining the break schedule so I could cover for two of the other hostesses.  At the satellite booth, I distributed materials, directed attendees to the main booth, and answered general questions about the Automated Packaging Solution as well as Xerox itself.  In the CP Bourg booth, I walked around the perimeter of their display to distribute materials directing attendees to the main Xerox booth.

During the next three days, I was responsible for managing the collateral racks in the main booth.  I reintroduced myself to each of the product managers and took note which materials belonged on each rack and where they were located within or outside of the footprint.  I spent each day restocking the racks, obtaining materials from other locations as needed, and completing other tasks when requested.  For example, I was positioned downstairs to direct attendees to a Xerox sponsored luncheon one afternoon and also took some time to collate documents for an evening activity another day.  I got to know the managers very well during this time period because the booth was busy and required a great deal of attention to complete all of the required maintenance for each of the collateral racks as well as any additional materials the managers found themselves needing through out the day.

On the final day, I was positioned back at the satellite booth.  I distributed literature and answered questions.  I was also asked to come back to the main booth from time to time to assist the host who had been assigned to maintain the collateral racks that day.
